We believe that you will find Stillwaters to be a lovely place in which to live out your retirement years!!! Those who live here speak of Stillwaters as a "beautiful, safe, and friendly community."  We know you will be impressed. We invite you to visit us and see for yourself.

Our Philosophy

"We began Stillwaters Estates in 1986 with a vision that continues to unfold.  Our objectives have been three fold: 1) That Stillwaters would serve those with at least average means.  This takes a great deal of commitment on the part of Stillwaters especially with construction costs continuing to rise.  2) To provide Home and Lot Ownership.  In most situations it is not prudent to lease a lot.  Leasing leaves the homeowner vulnerable to escalating charges and does not provide long term security.  For couples, home ownership is even more important because the home becomes a protected asset should Long Term Care become necessary for one of the spouses. 3) To build a community that is sensitive to changing medical needs.  We have demonstrated this by the type of homes we build and the services we provide our residents.

We, our staff, and contractors are committed to providing a pre-retirement/retirement community that is founded on the age-old values we all treasure.  We invite you to become a part of our community."

Our History

Stillwaters Estates began as the vision of Dr. and Mrs. David Williams, a local Centralia physician.  In July of 1986, under their leadership, the first roads were started and the City or Centralia extended water and sewer lines to the property.  Soon after, the City limits were extended to include what would become Stillwaters Estates Retirement Community in peaceful Lewis County, and construction on the first homes began in 1988.  Since then 60 of the 120 acres have been developed, resulting in a lovely, quiet gated community consisting of the following:

Approximately 210 individual privately owned homes with a variety of floor plans.
Rental apartments with private patio entrances.
Wide paved streets and sidewalks which provide safe places for our residents to walk, drive and bicycle.
A large park area with two nature ponds that attract migrating birds and water fowl.
A Memorial Rose Garden located in the park.
A paved path for walking and jogging around the park, ponds, and Gazebo.
A woodlands area with nature trails and river access for fishermen and bird-watchers.
A paved and fenced RV parking area.
A Community Building called "The Gathering Place" which provides a host facility for a variety of activities.
Colonial Residence, a beautiful colonial-style Assisted Living Facility with 80 apartments.
Locked security gates at both entrances at night.

Future plans provide for a number of additional possibilities:

Another 160 homes and apartments to be built over the next several years.
A Wellness Center with a therapy pool and exercise equipment.
A small shopping plaza with professional offices, a consignment store, gift shop, and coffee/tea room.
More extensive nature trails.

Stillwaters Estates, Inc. is privately owned, while the Colonial Residence Assisted Living Facility is a Non-Profit (501 C-3) part of Stillwaters.
